What data Conetiq collects from website visitors.

Conetiq collects information from all visitors to the website. This information is provided by their behaviour, browser, cookies, and internet service provider. This data is anonymous and only viewed in aggregate with other visitors’ data. We will refer to this data as anonymous passive data from this point forward.

Conetiq places forms within multiple pages throughout conetiq.com, where users can submit and send data to the company. This data does identify the person submitting it and can and will be viewed individually. We will refer to this data as personally identifiable information from this point forward.

Only the employees of Conetiq can view personally identifiable information in the course of their work, as well as the service providers listed later in this document.

If someone who has submitted information through a form becomes a customer, Conetiq may share this information with other service providers through the course of providing service. Please see our terms of service for more information on customer data.

Conetiq allows comments on its blog posts. Visitors are asked to submit personally identifiable information to post a comment, but this information can be pseudonymous if a user does not want to provide their personal information.

Information requested from visitors attempting to comment is:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Website
  • Comment
  • IP Address
  • Browser User-Agent String

Note: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Why Conetiq collects data.

Conetiq aims to provide the best experience to our website visitors, potential customers, and customers. In the service of that aim, we continually adjust and personalize our website content products and services using the data we collect.

Conetiq uses the anonymous passive data it collects from website visitors to improve the experience on the website. Conetiq will add, remove, move, or modify the content of pages based on behavior patterns in the anonymous passive data.

Conetiq uses the personally identifiable information users submit to contact them regarding products and services they might be interested in. Conetiq also uses this information to personalize proposals and quotes for services.

Conetiq collects information from visitors submitting comments to identify themselves as the commenter. The name and website users submit are published along with their comment for all future visitors to see. Commenters can store their information with Conetiq in order to post future comments more easily. This allows readers to weigh the credibility of the commenter, as well as personalize their response if they choose to write one.

How Conetiq uses this information.

Conetiq views anonymous passive data with Google Analytics. This tool allows us to identify trends and highlight problems with the website.

Conetiq views personally identifiable information with a Hubspot CRM, a customer relationship management software program. This tool allows Conetiq to respond to customer service requests and market products and services in a timely and personalized way. Personally identifiable information may also be viewed in Google Workspace apps such as Google Mail (Gmail).

Conetiq views data provided by commenters within WordPress, a website content management software program, as well as what is published on conetiq.com.

Cookies

Conetiq’s website’s content management system, WordPress, uses cookies to facilitate many features and functions for comments.

If you leave a comment on our website, then you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Conetiq shares data with a few authorized partners to facilitate the functions of the website and assist our customers. These third parties are:

Conetiq provides data about commenters to Automattic through their Gravatar and Akismet services.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Storage of personal information, data breach disclosures, and limits of liability for lost or stolen data.

Conetiq takes all reasonable precautions to transmit and store personal information in a way that is not accessible to any third party. Through encryption and other security measures, only employees of Conetiq and authorized third parties have access to the data.

Unfortunately, with the nature of exploits, hacks, and malicious actors, Conetiq cannot and does not guarantee that the data will never be accessed by a third party. Conetiq is not responsible for any damages that result from the actions of malicious actors that have gained access to data. If Conetiq has information that indicates an incident of unauthorized access to personally identifiable information, then Conetiq will contact all those individuals by email and post a disclosure of the incident on our privacy disclosure page within five business days of discovery.

Conetiq is not responsible for any damages resulting from the loss or deletion of data from our databases. It is your responsibility to back up any data Conetiq stores for you that you cannot afford to lose.

Options for opting out of marketing, or exporting/removing your data from our database.

Conetiq does not offer a way to opt-out of anonymous passive data collection. Continued use of the site is considered consent of collection of this data. Conetiq also does not offer removal of anonymous passive data; we cannot comply with requests for removal because we have no way of tieing the person requesting the removal to the data records because the data is anonymized.

If you have submitted personally identifiable information through a form on Conetiq and no longer want Conetiq to email you, then you can click the unsubscribe button for any of our correspondence. You can also reply to the email and say “opt-out” or “unsubscribe,” and you will no longer hear from us. Note that either of these options removes your data from our database; by law, we keep a record of people who have opted out on a “do not contact” list.

If you would like Conetiq to export a data file of personably identifiable data regarding you or remove your data from our database entirely, then email Conetiq’s privacy officer at legal@conetiq.com. To ensure Conetiq does not disclose other people’s data to third parties, only requests that come from the email address associated with the record will be complied with.

If you would like to remove a comment that you previously published on conetiq.com, and you created a user account, then you have the option of deleting your comment acter logging in. If you did not create a user account, then please email the site administrator at admin@conetiq.com with details of the comment (post URL and content) you would like to be removed and proof that you are the author of the comment (IP address or access to the email address associated with the comment).
