How We Work

From
Stuck
to Built.

No ambiguity, no surprises. Every Conetiq project runs through the same four-stage process — defined upfront, delivered on time, documented properly. Here's exactly what happens when you work with us.

Deliverables defined before work begins
You know exactly what you're getting — and when — before we invoice a single hour.

01
Discovery
& Scope
1–3 Days No charge

We start with a deep-dive into your goals, constraints, and timelines. We ask the questions that uncover what actually needs solving — not just what's been described. Then we define deliverables in writing before a single line of CAD gets drawn.

What Happens in This Phase
Initial call or meeting — you walk us through the project, we ask a lot of questions
We review any existing sketches, references, failed attempts, or supplier feedback you have
Scope of work document issued — deliverables, timeline, and fee clearly stated
You review, ask questions, and sign off before anything starts
You Get
Written scope Fixed timeline Fixed fee

Phase 02 / 04
02
Concept
& Validation
3–7 Days Review included

Rapid sketches and low-fidelity concepts developed and reviewed together. We stress-test ideas early — before they cost anything — using engineering first principles and your real-world requirements. The goal is to agree on direction before committing to full CAD.

What Happens in This Phase
2–3 concept directions developed — different approaches, not just variations on one idea
Each concept assessed against your brief — cost, manufacturability, performance, timeline
Review session — we walk through the options, you ask questions, we recommend a direction
Agreed direction documented and signed off — no scope creep later
You Get
Concept sketches Assessment report Agreed direction

Phase 03 / 04
03
CAD &
Detailing
1–4 Weeks Interim reviews

Full 3D CAD development, tolerancing, material selection, and component sourcing. Every part is designed for how it will actually be made — wall thickness, draft angles, weld access, fastener strategy, and assembly sequence are all considered from day one, not retrofitted at the end.

What Happens in This Phase
Full parametric 3D CAD model built — assemblies, sub-assemblies, individual parts
DFM review baked in — tolerances, wall thickness, draft angles, weld access
Off-the-shelf component identification — hardware, fasteners, bought-in parts
Interim review at 50% — catch issues before they become expensive
Detail drawings with GD&T, tolerances, finishes, and material callouts
You Get
3D CAD files Detail drawings BOM STEP / IGES

Delivery
& Support
Ongoing Post-delivery included

Production-ready drawing packages, supplier liaison, and post-delivery support. We don't hand over files and disappear. We stay engaged through first articles and production runs — because what gets built has to match what was designed, and that requires someone who knows both.

What Happens in This Phase
Final drawing package issued — complete, clean, and ready to go to a supplier
Supplier liaison — we answer technical questions so you don't have to translate
First article review — we check samples against drawings and flag any deviations
Post-delivery revisions — minor tweaks covered, no surprise invoices for small changes
You Get
Final package Supplier support First article review Revision support

Common Questions
Answers Before
You Ask
How do you price projects?+

Fixed-fee, project-based pricing. We scope the work, define the deliverables, and give you a number before anything starts. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices. If the scope changes, we discuss it and agree a new fee — you're never billed for something you didn't know was coming.

What if I only have a rough idea?+

That's fine — most projects start that way. The Discovery phase is specifically designed for rough ideas. We'll ask the right questions to get clarity, and the Concept phase will show you what's possible before you commit to anything. You don't need to have it figured out to get started.

Do you work with manufacturers?+

We design to be manufactured, and we produce documentation a factory can actually use. We can also liaise directly with your suppliers to answer technical questions and review first articles. If you need help finding a fabricator or manufacturer, we can point you in the right direction.

How long does a typical project take?+

It depends on complexity. A straightforward component redesign might be 2 weeks start to finish. A full POP fixture system for a national rollout could be 6–8 weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeline in the scope document — and we stick to it.

Who owns the files when the project is done?+

You do. Once a project is paid in full, all CAD files, drawings, and documentation belong to you. No licensing fees, no strings attached. You can take them to any manufacturer or supplier you choose.

What software do you use?+

We deliver in industry-standard formats (STEP, IGES, PDF drawings) that work with any CAD system. If you have a specific format requirement, let us know in Discovery and we'll accommodate it.
